1st Cycle

A Curriculum for Skills Development

In addition to complying with the 1st Cycle of Basic Education programme, as set out by the Ministry of Education, EITV also has its own programs included in the monthly fee. These programs are taught by a specific teacher, in accordance with the qualifications defined by the Ministry of Education. (Physical Education; English Language, Computing, Class Assembly and Musical Expression).

At EITV each child is considered to be a unique individual with their own needs.

In the 1st cycle, the aim is to create different learning contexts, as well as to provide opportunities for the development of skills and the acquisition of knowledge, ensuring the participation of all students in all phases of the teaching-learning process.

We favor active learning where students are the engines of all educational action. It is their interests and their initiative that determine the projects in which they are involved, guided by the teaching team.

All curricular subjects are approached in an integrated manner, through themes and projects experienced by the whole school and that cross all areas of knowledge that students must master.

The learning experiences they encounter on a daily basis are structured in such a way as to bring the knowledge, skills and challenges necessary for them to become motivated, curious and independent students.

Learning Network, a school for the future.

The use of tablets, within the scope of the “Learning Network” Project, at the level of the 1st Cycle, aims to integrate the use of technology in the routines of the teaching-learning process. Likewise, the use of these resources encourages intellectual development and facilitates sharing and collaboration between students and teachers, inside and outside the classroom.

Stimulates motivation and enhances the improvement of work rhythm and autonomy.

Enables greater efficiency in the exploitation of digital resources (development of skills in the use of ICT).

Assists in the collection and organization of study materials.

Enhances collaboration between peers.

Recreational activities

The activities developed in the 1st cycle playgrounds are planned, monitored and evaluated. With them, it is intended:
- the prevention of disruptive behavior during breaks;
- the integration and socialization of students predisposed to isolation / removal from peers.

We teach each student to overcome themselves and to always want to be better, creating an environment of personal motivation, curiosity and self-evaluation that makes them want to always go further. We believe that in this way our students will have the necessary preparation to achieve educational success.

Educational Support

For students who show more difficulties, an individualized, differentiated teaching process will be initiated and strategies will be implemented to consolidate the content explored in the various curricular areas.
