Sixth Form
At the Cambridge Advanced level, students at EITV – Escola Internacional Torres Vedras follow A-Level programs that provide academic specialization and preparation for higher education in Portugal, Europe, and internationally.
Learning at this stage is characterized by depth, independence, and critical analysis. Students are expected to engage deeply with subject content, evaluate information, construct arguments, and apply knowledge in unfamiliar and complex contexts. Teaching supports this process through structured guidance, along with increasing expectations of independent work and intellectual engagement.
The assessment is aligned with Cambridge International A-Level standards, with a strong emphasis on external examinations. Students are supported in developing advanced study skills, including research, analysis, information synthesis, and extensive writing.
At the end of A Level, students leave EITV as independent and academically competent learners, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and discipline necessary for success in university and beyond.
